DHL expands parcel locker network in Sweden in cooperation with SwipBox

Since November 2016 DHL Parcel installs additional parcel lockers in the Stockholm area, thus giving customers even more opportunities to get their packages delivered according to their wishes.

Parcel lockers are common in Europe, e.g. in Germany where DHL runs a network of more than 3.000 Parcelstations. As a main driver of innovations in the global parcel market, DHL now expands its parcel locker network in Sweden by installing additional parcel lockers at public locations like e.g. grocery stores. Thereby, DHL cooperates with the Danish locker provider SwipBox.

In the same way as the delivery to a traditional DHL Servicepoint, the recipient receives a notification when his parcel has been delivered to a DHL Locker. The recipient can then choose when he wants to retrieve the parcel, e.g. in the morning on his way to work or in the evening when shopping groceries. DHL customers benefit from increased flexibility and easy to use processes.

“The growth rate in e-commerce is very high and we must provide innovative delivery options in order to continue delivering at the high level as we do today. Traditional DHL Servicepoints will be the foundation of our network, but by using parcel lockers, we can expand the domestic and international network in Sweden in an efficient and customer-friendly way” says Niklas Stenman, Business Development Manager at DHL Parcel in Sweden.

“DHL Parcel’s goal for 2017 is to operate at least 200 parcel lockers in Sweden. In combination with approximate 130 lockers already run by DHL Express, the world’s leading provider of international express deliveries, this will give us the possibility to offer our customers the biggest locker network in Sweden, ensuring the high level of service they are accustomed” says Niklas Stenman.
