Danish Supermarked Group can now dispense prescription drugs via Swipbox lockers
“A collaboration between Danish Supermarket Group and Webapoteket provides customers in the supermarket, Netto and Bilka the option to buy prescription drugs and OTC drugs simply and easily”, writes Danish Supermarket in a statement.
Customers can now buy their medicine on webapoteket.dk via Føtex.dk or Bilka.dk, and pick it up either at a SwipBox at one of the 350 department stores / discount stores or have it delivered to a home address.
The new pharmacy act gives pharmacists the ability to create multiple branches that may package and hand out prescription drugs. These branches can be placed in the store’s front area.
But certain controls are still in effect with the new law, and there must still be a pharmacist in charge of a pharmacy.
Danish Supermarket now offers an alternative that gives 350 stores the possibility to hand out prescription drugs. The prescription must be pre-ordered at webapoteket.dk via Føtex.dk or Bilka.dk in order to be picked up at a SwipBox or to have it delivered to a home address.
Danish Supermarket Group has 350 stores with Click & Collect spread out across the country.
“With our strong distribution network we can undertake distribution and hand out of pharmaceutical products. Webapoteket.dk handles the actual sale and pharmacy trained personnel handle the important pharmacy professional advice,” says Kenneth Nielsen, Executive Vice President of E-Commerce and Digital in Danish Supermarket Group.
